Public Relations (PR) is the profession of shaping an organization’s image and disseminating information from an individual or an organization to the public in order to influence public perception. PR specialists help build the brand, spread the organization’s message and minimize the effect of negative publicity. Public relations and publicity differ in that PR is controlled internally, whereas publicity is not controlled and contributed by external parties.
