Counter

By admin

In typography, a counter is the area of a letter that is entirely or partly enclosed by a letter form or a symbol (the counter-space or the hole of the letter). The stroke that creates such a space is known as a “bowl”. Letters containing closed counters include A, B, D, O, P, Q, R, b, d, e, g, o, p, and q. Samples of partially enclosed letters include ‘c’ or a double-story ‘a’.
